Rogersville/Hawkins County Chamber Legislative Breakfast

The Rogersville/Hawkins County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Legislative Breakfast on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Hawkins County Education Training Center located at 1722 East Main Street Rogersville, Tennessee. 

Invited guests this year include:

Congressman Phil Roe, who represents the First Congressional District of Tennessee which includes Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, Washington, Jefferson, and Sevier Counties.  Congressman Roe serves on the Education and Workforce Committee and is Chair of the Sub-committee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions.  He also serves on Veterans Affairs Committee, the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on Health. 

Secretary of State, Tre Hargett, who is one of the three Constitutional Officers elected by the General Assembly, in joint session.  His duties include oversight of nearly 400 employees regarding a wide range of services.  He also serves on 15 boards and commissions and is a presiding member of the Tennessee Local Development Authority and the Public Records Commissions. 

Senator Mike Faulk who represents the Fourth District, which includes Claiborne, Grainger, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, and Union Counties.  He is a senate a member of the 106^th through the 107^th General Assemblies.   Senator Faulk chairs the Senate Calendar Committee.  He is Vice-Chair of the Senate Commerce, Labor & Agriculture Committee.  He is also a member of the following committees:  Senate Energy and Environment, Senate State and Local Government.  

Representative Mike Harrison who represents District 9, which includes Hancock and Hawkins County.  He has served as a House Member of the 103^rd through the 107^th General Assemblies.  Representative Harrison serves on the following House Committees:  Finance, Ways and Means and Health and Human Resources.  He also serves on the House General Sub-committees of Health and Human Resources, and Finance, Ways and Means.

Representative Dale Ford, who represents District 6, which includes Washington and Hawkins County.  He has served as a House Member of the 105^th through the 107^th General Assemblies.  Representative Ford serves on the following committees:  House Agriculture, House General Sub-committee of Agriculture, House Transportation, House Sub-committee of Transportation, House Ethics and Joint Veterans Affairs. 

Our Federal and State elected officials will be giving an update on legislative issues that will affect Hawkins County.
